Fabrication of Ge2Sb2Te5 metasurfaces by direct laser writing technique

We experimentally demonstrate fabrication of the tunable high-contrast periodic metasurfaces from 150 nm thick Ge2Sb2Te5 films sputtered onto glass and sapphire substrates by exploiting direct laser writing technique. find that use substrate provides better accuracy metasurface segments due to higher thermal conductivity. The advantages demonstrated method are its simplicity, rapidity, robustness, ability tailoring dielectric properties fabricated structures. This is crucial importance for engineering robust applications in field telecommunications information processing.

Buried waveguides have been realized in a 0.7 at.% Nd:YAG single crystal using the direct-writing technique with a femtosecond laser. Efficient laser emission at 1.06 and 1.32 μm is demonstrated and laser action at 0.94 μm is obtained using the pump with fiber-coupled diode laser at 807 nm, the first demonstration of such devices.

In this letter, we present the first demonstration of 2 8 power splitters made in silica-on-silicon by direct ultraviolet (UV) writing. The fabricated components are compact and exhibit good performance in terms of loss, uniformity, and bandwidth, showing that direct UV writing can become a competitive technology for fabrication of low-cost integrated optical devices.
